Lauren was the flower girl for a friend's wedding. and it was at this time that I began to see the first glimpses of the woman she is to become. This is her first true portrait not portraying some aspect of her childhood.  So this portrait is an unveiling so to speak, an unveiling of her womanhood when she, like a flower, is beginning to bloom. like a butterfly just emerging from her cocoon. Seeing her all dressed up in white I started thinking of the day when she will be the one walking down the isle and her race to adulthood will be coming to completion. It looks as she is contemplating that day herself, imagining all of the pomp and ritual. oh she is growing up so fast.
